SkopArts Residency 2026
Inspiration from Greece
This collection of photographs documents my time at the SkopArts Residency in Greece, June 2026. These images capture the textures, colours, and forms that are shaping the next generation of Aspire Pottery pieces.
Delphi
The fragments found at Delphi hit my imagination hard. I loved the contrast of the flow of what looks like the softest of material carved into rock that lasted for thousands of years. My goal was to create pieces that looked like the same flowing fabric on a functional vessel.

Island of Skopelos
We stayed on the island of Skopelos for three weeks and the Mediterranean Sea out the studio window, the barn swallows swooping around my work table and the clowder of cats everywhere found their way into my work.

Women
And lastly, I spent a lot of time thinking about the Caryatids, the women who hold up the Erectheum on their heads. It made me think about the things women carry. I want to visit this idea in a bigger way in the future, but for the time in Greece, being a bit of a holiday, I kept it light. I took the women closest to me - my moms, my daughters, my daughters-in-law, and thought about the simple things they carry. Here are a few.
