Aspire Pottery

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Welcome to Aspire Pottery. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of my website at https://aspirepottery.ca/ and any purchases you make through it. By browsing this site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

In these Terms, "I," "me," and "my" refer to Aspire Pottery, and "you" refers to the person using the site or placing an order.

About my products

Every item I sell is handmade. Because of this, each piece is unique, and small variations in colour, glaze, shape, size, and texture are natural and expected. These variations are part of the character of handmade pottery and are not defects. Product photos are as accurate as I can make them, but the item you receive may differ slightly from what appears on your screen.

All of my glazed, functional items are food-safe. Beyond that, care depends on the style of the piece. Functional items like plain bowls, plates, and cups are the most durable, while more decorative or detailed pieces are intended mainly for display and should be treated gently. No piece is guaranteed to be fully dishwasher- or microwave-safe, so when in doubt, hand-washing is always the safest choice. If you're unsure about a particular piece, feel free to contact me before purchasing.

Orders and pricing

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars by default unless stated otherwise, and applicable taxes are added at checkout. I do my best to keep product descriptions, prices, and availability accurate, but errors can happen. If I discover an error in the price or description of an item you've ordered, I'll contact you before processing the order, and you may choose to proceed at the correct price or cancel.

Because my inventory is limited and often one-of-a-kind, placing an item in your cart does not reserve it. An order is only confirmed once payment is complete and you receive a confirmation. I reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including in cases of suspected fraud or an item becoming unavailable. If I cancel an order you've paid for, you'll receive a full refund.

Payment

Payment is processed securely through Shopify and its payment providers. I don't see or store your full card details. By placing an order, you confirm that you're authorized to use the payment method you provide. For your security and mine, I only accept payment through the checkout on this website and will never ask you to send payment to a personal account outside of it.

Shipping

I ship primarily within Canada. Shipping to the United States may be available in approved cases, so please contact me before ordering if you're outside Canada. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout or arranged directly with me.

Pottery is fragile, and I take great care in packing each piece. Once an order leaves my hands, delivery timing is in the hands of the shipping carrier and outside my control. If your item arrives damaged, my return and refund policy explains how to reach me and what I need from you.

Returns and refunds

Returns and refunds are governed by my Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: items damaged in transit or sent in error may be eligible for a refund or resolution if you contact me within 7 days of receiving your order, with photos in the case of damage. Items purchased from partnered shops or distributors are subject to that store's own policies.

Local pickup and in-person sales

If you arrange to pick up an item or buy directly from my home shop, please inspect it at the time of pickup. Once a piece has been collected in person and inspected, I consider the sale final unless we've agreed otherwise.

Intellectual property

All content on this website, including photographs, text, designs, and the Aspire Pottery name, belongs to me and is protected by copyright. Please don't reproduce, copy, or use my content or images for commercial purposes without my written permission.

Limitation of liability

My pottery is sold for ordinary use as described. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or misuse of my products, including damage caused by using a piece in a way it wasn't intended (for example, putting a decorative or detailed piece in the dishwasher or microwave, or exposing any piece to extreme or sudden temperature changes). My total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page, with its "last updated" date, is the current one. Changes apply to orders placed after the update.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute relating to these Terms or your purchase will be handled in the courts of Ontario.
